Athletics
Intercollegiate athletics give rise to a wide range of legal and compliance issues, and compliance with federal laws and regulations is especially important given the high visibility and intense scrutiny of college athletics. Perhaps the most well known federal law affecting intercollegiate athletics is Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities, and presents a compliance challenge for many colleges and universities with athletics programs.
