Conflicts of Interest
Conflicts of interest are an inevitable part of life in higher education. College and university faculty, administrators and trustees are deeply involved with the outside world, patenting inventions, serving on the boards of corporations and nonprofits, and consulting with foreign governments and companies. Institutions must identify conflicts, and ensure that they do not inappropriately influence University decision-making, in areas as diverse as Board operations and sponsored research.
