Dear Educator Letter from the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights highlighting a selection of resources tailored to combat sex discrimination in educational institutions. The resources include the Department’s recent report on the Disparate Impacts of COVID-19 on the America’s Students, the Notice of Interpretation on Title IX, FAQs about sex discrimination, and joint guidance from the Department of Justice and OCR highlighting examples of sexual harassment that can prompt an agency investigation. OCR again stated in the letter that it anticipates issuing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Title IX, as well as a Q&A document to provide additional clarity on institutional obligations to address sex discrimination under the existing Title IX regulations.
